I didn't intend to be up until nearly midnight tonight, and in fact I signed off my other blog (the work one!) at 10.30 stating that I would be tying up a few loose ends then heading for bed! But by the time I had written a couple of emails, had a look on facebook, answered a new email and chatted a bit on msn it was nearly 11. Still not too late, but then I remembered that tomorrow is our wedding anniversary and it was time to retrieve the carefully hidden cards and prezzies for tomorrow and do a quick wrap and write. We had talked about not buying presents this year, we are having a meal out and that is enough really, but I already got a little something a while ago, and tomorrow evening wouldn't be the same without a nice bottle of wine, so there are a few gifts awaiting him in the morning!
Today was supposed to be a work day, but as all the things I had planned involved printing out, and my printer conveniently ran out of ink, it turned into a trip to Tesco, and afternoon at the park and a visit to Carols for a cup of tea (or two!)
I took Phoebe with me to Tesco, I thought it might be nice to have some time just her and me, I thought she would appreciate not having a little one tagging along, or a big one bossing her around, but no. She just wanted to grizzle and complain and want things she couldn't have. When she was in the trolley she wanted to get out, when she was out she wanted to be in. Not much fun at all. However, she was much the same this afternoon, so I am going to assume she is coming down with something, rather than just turning into a little brat!
Well tomorrow is out 7 year wedding anniversary. Which means that this time 7 years ago I was in the bathroom at Mum and Dad's house dying my hair. I was told I was mad to do it the night before the wedding, but doing things right at the last minute is really the story of my life!
I am looking forward to tomorrow, we are not doing anything much, just dumping the kids on the inlaws and going into town for a look round the shops and a spot of lunch. It will be nice to spend a bit of time just the two of us.
On that note, I better get to bed so I am not too tired to enjoy it!

A busy day, a late night!
Despite a long day, and the fact that it is past midnight, I am determined to keep this blog updated! Can't bail on day 3!
Today I woke up with a headache and have been working all day so it hasn't been the best day ever, but we did manage to get over to the park for an hour where Lyla taught us a game called "duck duck goose". I am still not totally sure what the game was about, but it involved a lot of running and chasing, perfect for wearing small people out on a Saturday afternoon!
Its been a lovely day today - not that I saw much of it from my office, but we managed to find time for a BBQ in the garden after the park, so three small people tired out and full of food went to bed with very little trouble this evening which made a nice change.

A night off!
I had a long day without the kids today, the little girls were at nursery and Lyla went to Kidzone. She has been so looking forward to it, but when she came home I asked her if she made any friends and she said no, the other girls told her to stop following them. It really makes me appreciate what a lovely school Lyla goes to, because at New Road the older children are so patient with and lovely to the younger ones. I don't think Lyla is really prepared for mean children. Still, she seems quite keen to go back, as on Wednesday they are off to the Safari park!
They were all very tired and went off to bed pretty soon after we got home. It was strange not seeing them all day especially now I am used to having Lyla mid afternoon, but three overtired small girls, one teething, is not a pretty site, and really after just an hour of having them home I was quite happy to tuck them in for the night!
I have had a really busy week this week, there has been so much going on, and I have been working late almost every night. This evening I am so tired I can hardly think straight, so I am going to turn the computer off and go and watch The Mentalist with Andrew. Its the last one in the current series, and it should be a good episode, although I will be pretty gutted this time next week when it is not on!

First day of the summer hols!
Today was the first day of the summer holidays, which I guess is fitting for the first of my blog posts! I am not sure how long I will keep this blog up, nor even how often I will update it, but it feels quite therapeutic at the end of a long day to get down in writing all that I have done. Who knows it might even be an interesting read in a few years!
We bought a season ticket to our local activity farm, Pigeons Farm, today, its such a great place, just down the road from us and today the kids got to feed lambs with a bottle, hold teeny baby rabbits, guinea pigs and chicks, and collect hens eggs. Then we had a picnic, (with several uninvited and ill mannered chickens) and when it started to rain we went into the barn where they were able to play in the indoor sandpit, climb up the mountain of hay bales and drive a few toy tractors around the barn!
What a great start to the holiday!!
6 week old bunnies, Lyla wanted the white one but Daddy said "No no no no. God no." Which on this occasion I took to mean no.
Tomorrow Phoebe and Alice are in nursery, and Lyla has her first day of "Kidzone" which is a summer holiday childcare group. My good friend Lisa gave us a lunch box with "High School Musical" on it, and although Lyla doesn't even know what that is, she knows the older girls have it and so she is more than excited. We went to look round kidzone a few days ago, to familiarise her with the surroundings, meet the staff and ask any questions. All she asked was, "Where do we put our lunchbox?" Bless her! It will be nice for me tomorrow to have a full day to work, I have so much to do and could do with a nice long uninterrupted period to get it done.Carol and her kids came round this afternoon which was nice, I got a tiny peek at baby Ollie, but he just slept the whole time, what a good baby!
Alice is a little under the weather today. She still has her two back teeth coming through and I have a feeling she is cutting an eye tooth as well. I hope we are not in for too bad a night, especially as it is now 11.30 and rather than being tucked up in bed I am writing my blog!
